Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we deal with the recent severe oxygen crash at Westbrook Mere.
The committee and volunteers have been working around the clock to do everything possible to improve conditions and ensure the lake can be reopened safely. As part of these efforts, additional aeration has been installed to help increase oxygen levels and support the recovery of the fishery.
Based on the progress we are seeing, we are currently planning to reopen Westbrook Mere on 11th August, provided conditions continue to improve as expected. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed should anything change.
We truly appreciate your continued patience, support and understanding during this challenging time. Our priority is, and always will be, the welfare of the fish and the long-term health of the lake.
