Dear Members,
If possible, we would ask everyone to hold off from pike fishing for the time being.
Although we’re now moving into autumn, the weather remains unusually warm and water temperatures are still very high for this time of year.
As many of you will know, pike are incredibly delicate fish, particularly when being caught, handled and returned in warmer water. The additional stress can significantly affect their recovery.
We’re therefore asking members to give them a little more time and wait for the water temperatures to drop before specifically targeting pike.
We’ll keep an eye on conditions and let everyone know when we feel the temperatures are suitable.
